We will get acquainted with the basics and history of oil painting, learn about the drying process of artworks and the use of materials that speed up this process, as well as learn how to correct mistakes on canvas.
From the artist's personal experience, you will learn what makes up the price of a painting and what helps to form it for the Russian and foreign markets, what nuances exist in working with art dealers and galleries, and whether it is worth publishing the prices of artworks in the public domain.
In the practical section, you will learn all the stages of creating a large-format female oil portrait: searching for compositional, color and tone solutions, creating a palette based on the main colors, working with a model and light, giving the work volume and completeness.
We learn to choose a still life based on the skin tone of the model and train to combine colors on peaches for the subsequent complication of objects. We select a color palette, make a sketch and look for a background solution, study the nuances of the first color fills, the texture of strokes, and color ratios.
